Marketing and Growth Manager
Location: Freetown – MikashBoks Head Office
Type of employment: Permanent, full-time
Overview
MiKashBoks is seeking to hire an experienced, motivated individual to be MiKashBoks’ champion in public and run the campaigns that win and win back savers. Turn the marketing plan into live campaigns across radio, social, creators, text, WhatsApp and the street, and prove what worked.
This role is for persons with a strong track record of using marketing to drive customer growth, particularly in the financial sector.
About MiKashBoks
Founded in 2021, MiKashBoks is a fintech business that seeks to transform the financial experience of the last billion. Our award-winning app provides ‘banking as a service’ for the informal sector – both individuals and groups – so that people at the bottom of the financial pyramid can build a financial footprint and get access to financial services. MiKashBoks has a growing base of customers in Sierra Leone.
What you will do
Champion the brand. Be the public face and voice of MiKashBoks with customers, media, partners and communities, in English and Krio. Keep every message on brand: “If yu sev am, wi add am.”
Run campaigns end to end. Brief, produce, launch and report on campaigns, starting with the January reactivation campaign and the 3-year anniversary.
Manage creators and media. Recruit and manage content creators on TikTok and Facebook, give each a tracking code, and buy and schedule radio and other media. 4. Own the messages that bring people back. Write and schedule text, WhatsApp and Ask Miki prompts for each customer group (never deposited, gone quiet, new joiners), and test what lifts first deposits.
Lead social and content. Plan the content calendar, create and approve posts, short videos and graphics, and engage with and answer the community.
Get on the ground. Plan market and community activations with field sales and agents, and keep the agent flip book and training materials in use.
PR and partners. Pitch stories to media, prepare spokespeople, and co-market with partners such as Orange Money, Afrimoney, Ecobank and NGOs.
Measure and report. Track results weekly with the tech team and send a monthly marketing report.
What you bring
4 to 6 years in marketing or communications, ideally in fintech, mobile money, telecoms or consumer goods in Sierra Leone or West Africa
Campaigns you have run across both traditional (radio, print, events) and digital (social, paid ads, influencers)
Excellent writing and speaking in English and Krio; confident on camera and on radio ● Hands-on with social media tools, Meta and TikTok ads, basic design (Canva or similar) and short-form video
Comfortable with numbers: reads a dashboard, knows cost per customer, runs simple A/B tests
Energy, warmth and discipline: a cheerleader who also meets deadlines
